You're exactly right. That's the flaw in the open differential 4x4 systems.
Just when you need it most, it quits!

Your bike is hardest to pedal when the chain is on the smallest REAR
sprocket.
Your winch is like your legs. Your winch/legs are connected to the FRONT
sprocket of a bicycle. The smaller diameter FRONT sprocket gives you more
power, but less speed. A larger FRONT sprocket gives you much less pulling
power. Each wrap of the cable on a winch drum = a larger diameter FRONT
sprocket.

ive never seen the warn version, although milemarker has a free video they
will mail you on winch comparisons (vhs/dvd/cd rom). theyre trying to
promote the milemarker winch but if you look at all the data, it almost
looks like they were trying to promote the ramsey instead.
