What Did You Do To Your GC Today

Re: What Did You Do To Your GC Today
well i ordered all new U joints for the front driveshaft as well as the dust seal for the centering yoke... its been fun tracking down part numbers. found a site that carries the hard to find bits for stock axles... got the centering yoke at napa, but totally forgot about the dust seal (mine was destroyed in the carnage...
i've also picked up the hardware to free up my sticking ebrakes for my inspection... also took a bite out of my old 31's to hopefully breathe a bit more life into them, they had NO grip what so ever...
so now hopefully she'll have a bit more grip, i mean just running my hand over it, i can tell it has more grip for sure... the blocks in the middle were one piece... figure the last winter, wear them right out lol

I also free'd my ebrakes up applied some anti sieze in key areas... New springs and hardware should be good as new... Thought my cable was siezed went to adjust the brake by hand and it was solid... Ugh

Re: What Did You Do To Your GC Today
Had to have the rear left caliper replaced last month, when I did the pads and greased the pins it was working fine but then it decided that it needed to lock itself onto the rotor. Love spending money on things I just fixed.
You missed your chance Mike, I left the driveshaft sitting out in the open for 2 days and it was still there so I put it back in. Better luck next time.

Re: What Did You Do To Your GC Today
i opted to save on my fuel to get out there, and just order up my own ujoints and centering ball LOL...
my Dana 35 cover is soo unbelievably rusty... wow...i took a few layers off it im sure and treated it to some rocker guard... hopefully that takes care of it long enough for it to warm up...
ordered a neutral safety switch for it i could get one online for $12, but opting for next day shipping and all that, im saving about $15 getting the store to order it and have it in the same time...
i really want my ZJ back on the road... oh how i miss it...
so my list for the next couple days... get the cover on, fill the axle, hook up the ebrake cables, and patch the last couple holes in my rockers...

Re: What Did You Do To Your GC Today
You can put an ounce or two of steel BB's in each tire and it will help balance them out. Have had to do that before with swampers so I could drive down the highway without getting beat to death.

mine arn't that far out, i pretty much removed rubber from the center of the tires... so its a little bit here and there... shakes up at 110kph... so thats not so bad...
i finally have EVERYTHING to put my front driveshaft back into my jeep... i almost forget what 4 low feels like... and thats not OK! lol
