the above install ^^ is wild. smash the gas pedal and this intake sucks BIG air and roars! Added a Magnaflow exhaust and the GC sounds wicked.

The CAI does make a difference to throttle response. When I first got the 04, stepping on the go pedal was less than a heart thumping experience. After installing the CAI and a bigger exhaust it really made a difference.

dan did you ever install a 63mm throttle body... it really helps my 4 slow out on the long climbs, havn't got a spacer but apparently it would be beneficial to the 93-98 intake manifolds, their too small, and can benefit from the added plenum volume. (although i dont think mine would fit since my Cold Air Intake is mounted pretty high on the throttle body, id have to rework it a little to make it sit lower on the throttle body

im thinking in the summer i might try and track down a 04's intake manifold, get the cylinder head off a 93 (highest flowing cylinder head, without having to machine it) and a high output cam and a decent Header... would only be a couple hundred bucks but would probably beef up the power just a little bit... till i can afford to add some more CID with a stroker...

Since its not a daily driver... i can afford the down time...
what am i thinking, i gotta get that 44 under it!

Currently i'm running a 63mm throttle body, Custom 2.5" CAI with K&N Filter (90 and 22 bends), 2.5" exhaust no cat, with a dynomax super turbo muffler (really miss my throaty Ultra Flo that was on my WJ), she gets moving pretty quick, will be better with 3.73's under it...

Yeah I got the larger throttle body and got an Airaid spacer bored out to 63mm to. Not only do I get the growl from the exhaust I have a "turbo" whistle when I really step on it. lol
Right now I've got the 63mm TB/ spacer, Airaid CAI, 2.5" header w/pre cats (no main cat), Magnaflow hi-flow muffler. The combo sounds mildly aggresive when driving normally, step on the gas and it just growls!

When I change out my rear axle if you decide to keep your stock axles (30/35) you can have my 3.73's since I'm going to put the 4.56's in. Hopefully I'll have enough saved and I'll at least put the front locker in at the same time.

I might keep the front 30 until i decide to get really silly and put something crazy under it... so id welcome your 3.73's up front... i'll have the 44 in the back with 3.73's installed as soon as it warms up a little bit... and well wont be able to lock up the t-case until i get it regeared...

Trying to escape Kitimat right now. 2 hours ago the roads were bare and dry, just as I finished loading the Jeep it started snowing... An hour later there's 6" on the ground and it's snowing heavier. Starting to think I'm trapped in a bad twilight zone episode.

I need to get my 44 installed... my ZJ is a one wheel wonder... (and no 4x4 means im stuck everywhere) i was stuck in my own driveway... heres what we got in a couple of hours...

a few inches fell while we were shoveling it out... the neighbour across the street is parked in the driveway, he cant make it up the hill until they plow it out... but theres no plows on the road at the moment...

Holy crap the jetta is good in snow though, i had to get a push out (the driveway was ice under all the snow) but its such a tank 4012lbs! compared to the jeeps 3600lbs! i need my 4wd back!
