That's a good enough reason to move.

my low coolant warning came on this evening... since the fall i have been topping it up every month or so, but it started losing coolant on a more regular basis, indicator coming on every week or so. nothing had really looked wet under the hood, so i had initially thought it was maybe internal. when i went to top it up this evening, i found the problem. the coolant hose coming from the top of the water pump and running to the top of the rad (passenger side) had split just above the clamp on the water pump end... so i got my knife out and a screwdriver and cut the hose just above where it was leaking and reattached it, tightened the clamps, and voila!...no more leak.

overflow reservoir is topped up, lost maybe a cup of coolant when taking the hose off, let it idle till it got good and warm after fixing the hose(just under 100 on the gauge), took it for a rip to timmy's with the heat off, and all seems well. hopefully i didn't overlook anything, lol...turned heater on once home again, heater is blowing good and hot. so...no leaks, didn't overheat, and heater's working fine... i guess all is well...

brakes seem fine, holding fine, pumped them about 20 times and the level didn't go down any...

now to replace the aged battery in my VW, not enough umph on these cold mornings... it seems like this cold spell is never going to end...

Don't forget the level goes down as the pads wear. When did you last check them?

yesterday when i had all 4 off putting on some snow tires... so just before the light came on...

sucked it up and got a set of Goodyear Nordics cause they were cheap and in stock... what a big difference... actually got to see under my WJ, and was relieve to see everything looked like new... hardly any rust anywhere!
