Re: Superwinch = junk
Josh,
A ****** block works on the same principle as any pulley system such as an
old fashioned chain-fall engine hoist. By running the cable through the
pulley and then hooking it to your frame the load cuts in half. This is
because now the frame is handling half the weight and the winch is pulling
the other half. The negative is that now you have to pull twice as much
cable to move the same distance.

A$$hole.
Hey jeeaholic, he's new to the sport, cut him some slack. His mistake isn't
so ridicules (Thinking a 4500 lb winch should be fine for his 3000lb Jeep).
He's paid a pretty high price for this mistake and he's unhappy, you
wouldn't be? It's jerks like you who give these forums the reputation they
have.

Hey, *most* of the answers you got were helpful and civil. No one treated
you like a moron until you started acting like one. You attacked a
manufacturer (ref. the subject of this thread) and a supplier (quadratec)
immediately. You were informed that you had made a mistake and the
manufacturer and supplier were not at fault.
When you refused to accept that a 4500lb. winch can't pull a 3500 lb. jeep
out of axle deep mud, that's when people began to get annoyed with you.
Don't jump all over people for telling you the truth.
If you would like more information on proper sizing use of a winch, just
ask. There are many qualified people here who can help you. You may still
get some wise *** answers, but it's pretty easy to separate the helpful ones
and ignore the snippy ones.

manufacturer and supplier were not at fault.
You may still
get some wise *** answers, but it's pretty easy to separate the helpful ones
and ignore the snippy ones.

you like a moron until you started acting like one. You attacked a
manufacturer (ref. the subject of this thread) and a supplier (quadratec)
immediately. You were informed that you had made a mistake and the
manufacturer and supplier were not at fault.
