Re: Jeep Booby Traps Help
Did some training at Corpus this year around spring break (we do plan
training trips around events if possible). Seems like a niceenough place,
except for the mosquitoes, and the fog.
The mosquitoes ate us alive while we were in the field on evasion, and the
fog was so thick, I couldn't see the bow of an 11 meter boat from the middle
of the boat.

That's not too bad, Oregon is probably more left wing liberal tree hugger

Re: Jeep *****...more fun that a barrel of Yankees...
CAUTION! THIS POST CONTAINS POLITICALLY INCORRECT HUMOROUS COMMENTS!!!
Hell Jeepers, where I grew up, anyone who came from North of the Red River
or the Panhandle (except the Okies...they were just Okies) was a
Yankee...The ones from North of the M-D Line were called, "Yankeequeers."

Richard,
You have no clues as to my ethnicity...it's quite varied and some of
it's a little vague even to myself...ever heard of a "Mississippi Choctaw?"
What makes you think that what, or how, a person responds to a post may
somehow identify his ancestry or ethnicity?
The "idiots" I referred to, were those who choose not to believe, and
argue about, the actual statutes here in Texas which allow for the use of
deadly force to protect property.I never said, nor did I imply that everyone
who didn't live in Texas was an idiot.
Yes, this country was built by foreigners, but they were foreigners who
ascribed to a common vision of what the United States should be. They were
decent men who strongly believed in the right of the people to use force to
protect themselves, their property, and their country.
Many of the foreigners who are allowed to legally enter, and a lot of
those who enter illegally, don't share the vision of our foreign founders.
Many come specifically to commit crimes. I'm not just talking about
terrorists either. Locally, there is a group of people currently ripping off
the elderly with a "pigoen drop" scam. They speak with heavy, foreign
accents. Not to stereotype aspecific group, but MANY (not all) Nigerians who
come to the US are involved in confidence schemes. These are the foreigners
who endanger the fabric of our country.
Richard, I have no idea where you're from. But you probably aren't a threat
to my property, and I'd bet, wouldn't vote to change the laws in Texas to
make it more difficult for the rightful owner of property to defend it with
lethal force. I apologize if you were offended by my post.

Re: Jeep Booby Traps Help
YES!! Now yer gittin' it! In my understanding, nightime adds additional
risk to the victim because he's even less sure of the criminal's intent.
You've got to figure he's up to no good at night and potentially lethal.
I consider that an endangerment above and beyond whatever the crime is.
I don't know if that is the reasoning behind the law, I just surmise
that it is part of it.
My orig. question was regarding an incident where the guy was up to no
good, but not posing a threat. Someone posted that it's just peachy in
Texas to shoot the ****. When the cops come, you get a smack on the back
and a handshake. THAT'S what I said BS to.

Re: Jeep Booby Traps Help
Twaldron, I have it already...I'm not wrong about the ORIGINAL question you
asked:"Which state allows using deadly force when life isn't endangered???"
There is a tremendous amount of case law to back it up, as well as the
statute I posted. This thread is long, and very convoluted already and is
pretty much off-topic anyway.
If you REALLY want to debate the daytime use of deadly force when your life
isn't endangered...go to tx.guns and debate it there. I might even be able
to make a pretty good argument that one can....
BTW: I don't drink Lone Star...tastes like too much like Pearl these days.

Re: Jeep Booby Traps Help
If you're not a native american, then you have a good chance of being of
brit descent (which means you have a good chance of being a bit french or
german), and if you are a native american then you are almost certainly
mexican (or canadian) !!
btw, wasn't it the Mason Dixon line ?
