What Did You Do To Your GC Today

Re: What Did You Do To Your GC Today
oh yea electrical ghosts are always fun, luckily that's one of my specialties... id give ya a hand if i was around
I'm trying to sell my spare bored out 4.0L throttle body to my buddy with a 04 TJ 4 banger... oh it wont work, i showed him posts on the net how most people are loving it since it smooths out the RPM range and helps on hills (not like there's any around here) but would aid his gas mileage a bit... but he's afraid to bolt anything to his engine lol... sigh might have to sell it off on the Ebay
other than that I'm cleaning out the carpet from the last river run where someone had broken full bottle of beer (in the case) and it seeped into my carpet... FUN

Re: What Did You Do To Your GC Today
Stormy weather on the weekend, so I figured it's about time to get around to a couple of things I needed to do.
First I had to drop the fuel tank because every time I filled it up fuel would **** out on to the ground...And gas is getting to be a little pricey to be just pouring on the ground every time I fill 'er up. Easy fix though, the fuel pump gasket was the trouble maker.
Then I decided to make space a little more readily available when I go camping, so I made the back seats removable instead of just flipping forward. Pretty simple. Took maybe 20 minutes...And cuz I was bored, I took a couple of pics.
All you need is a 10mm wrench or socket, grinder, punch and a hammer, and four pins (Princess Auto P/N: 8002035) And here they are:
Remove these two bolts from each bracket:
Grind this end of the pin off:
Punch old pin out:
Re-Install bracket with two bolts:
Install new quick release pin:
Now my seats come out in seconds when I need more space...
Can you tell I had too much time on my hands this weekend? I was supposed to be out on the lake, but the lightning in the Okanagan had other ideas...Oh well...
Later.

its bad when on the other side of the country is getting the same crappy weather you are... sigh...
its a great mod isn't it Craig... i've pulled mine countless times since doing the mod the hardest part is figuring out where to put them, but since their padded, just throw them on top of whatever you've got in the back no biggy!
i found my old lightbar off my XJ and was thinking about putting it on, but instead im going to transplant the lights from it to a new one, this thing is just a bit too beat up...

The rain was needed though...Okanagan has some wildfires that could use all the help they can get...
Here's a couple of pics from the past week:
Fires (Glenrosa and Fintry fires)
Firefighting plane crash while scooping water (Pilot was OK)
Fire Damage:
This house was in the middle of the fire, but survived:
Storm:
Lightning
Hail
Wind and Carnage
Sorry, off topic, but...that's what kept me from the lake and inspired me to fix the Heep, and tweak the back seats...It will be handy to get them out of the way...the big question is why couldn't the designers or engineers at Jeep figure this out to begin with?

Re: What Did You Do To Your GC Today
The real question is why the Jeep whiz kids didn't continue with this. The XJ's and ZJ's had this all along even though most people didn't even realize it. But when they did the WJ's we have to do it ourselves.
I guess that means that WJ owners can fix anything and the rest just need a helping hand.
My parents don't live to far from Fintry (Emerald Bay) so I'm just waiting to see if the fire gets closer.

Re: What Did You Do To Your GC Today
$100 USD High Pinion, Reverse Cut, Non Disconnect, Dana 30 that's never been off-road getting picked up Monday, 3.55 gears and ABS ready, I've found a bud who is willing to help reinforce this one as well, welding on the OD of the D30 with the same ID tube to add strength, and to weld the diff housing to the tubes...
i don't think i have 3.73's going to have to figure that out, but i don't see myself using 4x4 in the next few months() UGH... but I'm really wanting to put just a taste of lift on the WJ... sigh but i need new tires...
I've also found a NP242HD transfer case for cheap (as in you pull it its yours)
that's going to require new drive shafts, so it'll sit in the garage... might do a Slip Yoke Eliminator mod while I'm at it, cause that TC is going in after the lift... might as well do it right... we'll see how it all goes...
