Slurp!
I was trying to figure out why the 4.0L is such a gas sucking pig.
It seems that the inline configuration with a manual 6spd tranny and the fact it is a small, relatively light truck should be a fuel efficient combo, but she drinks fuel with the big boys. I think my work truck, which is an '04 crew cab chev 2500 2WD with a 6.0l/auto, gets better MPG on the highway. And there is a lot more truck there.
Anybody notice any mileage gains with a cat-back exhaust system?? I am dreaming about a magnaflow system.
I am not too concerned, I won't trade it off because of mileage, the fun factor is solid, but just the principle of it seems to defy logic.
Living in BC I am very happy that I can pass everything on the steep highway grades with no effort, usually in 6th.
Anyway that's what I did to my TJ today, I had a profound thought.
Tomorrow I go wheeling and leave a nice fat carbon footprint. Then maybe I'll get on my 600cc Katana that gets 30mpg and roast some more ozone layer. My vibe used to get better mileage than the bike and the jeep put together, or at least close.
