What did you do to your TJ Today?

Re: What did you do to your TJ Today?
The heater line tube (plastic cover steel) which is attached to the water pump, looked real bad. Since the water pump had to come off anyways to change this tube and instead of putting the old one back in I put in a new water pump w/gasket and steel tube. The new tube is not plastic covered, which to me wasn't a very brite idea. The plastic cracks and water gets in and the pipe rusts. Everything came off reasonably easy, sprayed most of the bolts for 2 days prior with "Release All"
Parts total a little over $100.

Re: What did you do to your TJ Today?
Did my 6 month routine over the last few of days on my 03 Rubi.
Up on jackstands and:
- Rotate tires
- Replaced front swaybar end links and bushings.
- Replaced all 4 calipers(2 were sticking), flush and replace brake fluid
- clean/lube e-brake
- remove and clean throttle body, tps, IAC etc.
- change oil/filter (penzoil Plat/napa gold)
- change trans fluid, 4 years and 12k km on old stuff(RP)...used Mopar fluid this time.
- grease greasable things
- Pressure wash underside and touch up undercoating, re-spray inside frame(Dominion no-drip)
- remove all carpets and touch up any new rust spots(rust-converter/tremclad topcoat)
- clay-bar and wax exterior.
- Other regular maint check items
- Generate new parts list for things that are getting iffy and I should fix/replace next spring(locker hose connections @ diff, rear swaybar bushings, new front rotors/pads, leaky clutch master/slave, rusty door handles and hard top rear window hinges).
I actually quite enjoy working on the Jeep. She gets a pretty detailed going over in April and October. The spring routine is a bit more intensive on the underside pressure washing and undercoating(frickin road salt here in NB). Only drive it about 3k per year, but like to stay on top of things and fix before they become an issue.
cheers

Re: What did you do to your TJ Today?
Well with winter coming I needed new tires (hell I have a tire fetish..... I always need new tires)......
Never one to pass up a good deal I found 4 brand spanking new Good Year Wrangler Territorys at less than half price.
I have had them on my Jeep last year and like them.
Now for the fun part....... I got a buddy to put them on rims for me...... When I went to pick them up today I noticed he had the white letters facing out...... I have never been a fan of white letters out..... but he had them on the rims and balanced at the best price around(free). Now bagers can't be choosers..... but being cheep will cost me if I change them over....... such is life.

Beautiful Jeep. My dream of owning a Jeep was conceived in Victoria. I miss the island. I'm in Ontario for work... at least I finally bought the Jeep! ... now to get back to Victoria... lol...

Re: What did you do to your TJ Today?
I just bought my 2004 TJ in the summer and on the weekend I got a RC 4" lift and 33x12.5x15 duratrac tires on 15" ion matt black alloys. I have lots to learn in the "jeep word" and am lovin' it. Next will be a new flares. I love my jeep!
