I think I need a front end alignment, as I tend to squeal the tires
while doing slow speed turns. Tire pressure is ok. Gonna replace the
shocks and get a front end alignment done.

totally different from any Jeep he may have ever owned.. That problem
has nothing to do with the steering stabilizer and if the front-end were
in good condition, you could even run without the steering stabilizer
which serves as a band-aid when other problems exist.
If the air pressure is where it should be, high-twenties or low-thirties
(do not set it to the pressure molded into the tires's sidewall which is
way too high for a TJ!), then I would think it's likely the front shocks
are just too stiff.
