Re: What Did You Do To Your GC Today

Im just wondering how much hell my front ring and pinion is going to go thru, i disassembled it (didn't pull the bearings or races) but put the R&P back in, same amount of play, painted it and it looks normal so im running it... it bites right in the middle of the teeth, although i didn't see where it was making contact before hand... so i dont know if its going to give me hell later on down the road, oh well was going to replace it anyways...

then again, i probably wont use 4wd this year seeing as im in Carolina and all... i dont yet see me going out to the mountains with these guys down here...

the nice thing is their tying the inspection to the registration, no more silly stickers on the windshield... NC's are huge about 3x3"

good news work is completely tolerable, great people to work with really makes the day go by faster... that and a new job opportunity has come my way down here, hopefully scheduling an interview tomorrow sometime... just ready to get things going again...

Not to much happening today, spent almost 6 hours on the phone with an IT guy before he finally came to the conclusion I came to yesterday...replace the tower. How I love tech witch doctor's.

On a happier note though FedEx and DHL both stopped by to visit today. FedEx dropped off a set of Quick Disco's and extra bushing's and DHL dropped off some beef.

I really like the pic Craig. Actually I think it's damn cool. now one of my desktops.

I'd really like one of those Timmy Ho's!

Looks like a good delivery! How long till you get to test it out?

I thought you were going with the KOR?

Its finally up on the site at a $148 introductory price...
all the thumbnail images link to the tire carrier...

i dunno for $148 i just might have to order one before it bumps up $50-100

A word of caution: Don't set your Quick Disconnects down on the same piece of steel you were just cutting with a torch. The rubber bushings WILL melt....oops

You can get a better look at it by downloading JKS new catalog, really like the fact the KOR gives you the smaller x-member but I really want the larger side to side support/ coverage. If Bryant would have had time to play and fab it I definitely would have gone with the KOR. I tend to like Kevin's and his "overkill" build quality.

Hopefully I'll be able to test it out in a couple of weeks when I head down south. The snow is gone so I'll be able to hit some of the trails yet.

If Emil's timeline stays the same my winching bumper should be here in about 3 weeks so I can finally get the winch mounted right in time for a northern Alberta winter, see what kind of damage I can do to Hummer's now!
Highway 63, the worlds longest skating rink!

Glad to hear your finally decided to get off the U.I. Ski Team, you working with the the big stuff or just by hand?

Thats Day 1 stuff dan... Happens to the best of them... i liquefied the cord on a portaband, and started throwing sparks everywhere... seriously, that was on day 3.

I've got an interview Thursday with a small security installers outfit thats growing fast, and just had a death in the company so they really need someone that can dive in... and i like small companies cause i like to make money, and the more you save for them the likely hood you'll see it back, or at least be appreciated for it... so hopefully that goes well, im sure it'll pay well and be full time so i know what kinda damage i can do to my jeep, on a regular basis! haha

today was a warm sunny 20C day, it was tuck up the exhaust, reinforce the brackets, and route some high guage wires to a custom power distribution block ive made for all the accessories i've got planned out...

right now im gathering up a needed parts list for converting the AC compressor to Onboard Air... found about half of it in the garage today, as far as all the fittings and things of that nature go...

i was looking at cutting out my stock spare tire carrier and installing a steel box instead of a round tub, i could gain alot more storage area, i've just got to look at what all would be interfering with it... and what size i could go to... and was also thinking of a larger fuel tank aswell... id like to put in a 120L tank increase my range quite a bit with that one... around 570 miles to the tank... would be nice...

I dont have to worry about a tow truck coming to pick up my jeep anymore... cause its mine now... :alcoholic:

well sorta... i've got to pay back the 'rents a few sheckles, but considering what capital one \ pulled im glad they helped me out... especially since i started working again... so i know i can get them paid up pretty soon...

tomorrow i go to work on my old cherokee... i miss that thing, its developed the leaking valve cover... might have a chance to buy it back in a little while... he's looking to get a small car with better mpg... and he'll let me get it back for next to nothing if i can help him out with a few of his problems...

Hey fellow climbers and mudders.

Today I cleaned her up and lubed everything that bolts, and pivots...
I just got my first Jeep (a '96 ZJ) a few days ago from and insurance settlement due to my car getting rearended..
I am excited and have many visions of a lift and custom steel ends. she needs a little trann work, rear defrost repair, rear gate strut replacement, and some minor cosmetics...
Layoff has diminshed the bulk but the priorities are being addressed..
So you will see me on here often, asking green questions..

Willy....peace
