What Did You Do To Your GC Today

Re: What Did You Do To Your GC Today
my first thought would be to try a pair of needle nose vice grips, you may gain a little more traction on it... and turn it as you pull, might be worth a shot...maybe spray a little wd-40 in between it and the plug to help lube things up.

So this is where im at...
i'm thinking screwdriver and hammer, and maybe break it up a bit, vacuum it out... hopefully it would get to the bottom of the plug...
worst case is snap the plug, and use a easy out to remove the rest of the plug... i rather not do that...

From what I can see, that piece should be either rubber or plastic. You really don't want to break the plug, really. Ok here's an idea, find a piece of tube that will go over the ceramic part of the plug and cut some teeth in one end, making sort of a hole saw, then use it to cut the piece away.

Re: What Did You Do To Your GC Today
what about some kind of mini puller that you could hook below the rubber seal and lift it out? should be pretty easy to rig up and doesn't have to be super strong since you aren't removing pulleys with it...

Re: What Did You Do To Your GC Today
started off the morning with a visit to my mechanic to check if i was good to get my e-test done, all was fine, then spent $90 to fix my exhaust, had a decent hole below my upstream O2 sensor and a smaller hole above the sensor (where the heat shield attaches). then took trigger for a drive and then in for e-test...passed no prob. then i went and got my new registration sticker.
glad everything went smoothly... i've been hearing some horror stories about the new e-test format...

glad you're having some success! hope you don't get too many more issues w/misfires... at least now you know what to do if another rubber seal sticks...
side note= the new e-test only shows if you pass or not, it doesn't provide the numbers like the old pipe-sniffer test. bummer... i like to see how well it passed, not just pass/fail.
