What Did You Do To Your GC Today

Re: What Did You Do To Your GC Today
so my new compression tester will be here monday... turns out leaving it in a deep drawer in my old tool box is a bad idea, as the glass broke on it when a case of easy outs landed on it... live and learn...
swapping all the fluids in the Jeep hopefully tomorrow while the weather is decent (should be 0F!! WOOO) only thing i need to find is my tube of RTV for resealing the diffs...
Also picked up a bottle of Kleen-Flo 5 Minute Engine flush... 2 cans of seafoam motor treatment, (one for going thru the intake, and one probably going into the fuel tank)
also going to warm up my grease gun and a tube and give her some much needed TLC...
might try and borrow a garage just to simplify things...

Re: What Did You Do To Your GC Today
Got the Engine Flushed! seems to have helped alot, oil came out DAAARK... dip stick itself got darker in just the run time of the flush... new oil is in... got the front diff apart, then i check, stupid me thought i was out of RTV, so take a trip up to crappy tire, come home with everything but RTV, was almost home, and had to turn around, RTV and thats it... get home and literally 3 minutes into finding the socket for the transfercase bolts... brand new full size tube of Right Stuff just sitting there at the end of the bench...
so i got everything i wanted done but the rear diff and the steering stablizer i've been procrastinating putting on and now cant even find LOL
All fluids i removed had a goldish tone to them, so slightly worn... no silver sparkle from wearing bearings or clutches... so yaye... its really being a good jeep to me...
only other issue i see is the heatshield has mostly broken off the chassis and needs to lifted off my muffler which needs to be replaced cause its leaking...

Re: What Did You Do To Your GC Today
Well, a few days ago, i changed the spark plugs(they had not been changed since i bought the jeep in 2004 ) they were worn way down to nothing the ceramic had even been eaten away. Frankly im amazed the jeep still started. Next i changed the wires cap and rotor. Now the thing purrs like a kitten.
To think my brother in law wants to buy a yukon. ugh. Nice suv but i hoped he would go for a jeep.
Oh well.
By the way jeep owners, never forget to tighten both screws on the iac motor. I gave myself
starting and running problems by not making sure that sensor was nice and tight.(had to clean it and the interior of the mechanizm). By the way, that is considered a maintainance issue.
Hell, the jeep stalled after 30 mins of driving. And wouldn't start easy after a short drive.
Just letting you guys know.
Take care

Starting a shopping list for a lift kit for the Jeep... wife is giving me the Go Ahead with a "just not too tall" which i can live with lol
so any thoughts or opinions on WJ lifts... im going for long arms i think, i want a smoother ride, and more flex, but dont want to be sky high either...

I like my rough country 4" susp lift, ride quality is good, and not too tall for the wife, looks good on the jeep. I also like IRO's 4" kit, it comes with an adj fr track bar. Prices aren't bad, but installation can be pricey. Cost me almost $650 to get mine installed and took about ten hrs.
Be warned, once lifted, you will likely find other issues, and be watching for any signs of death wobble.
