Re: What Did You Do To Your GC Today
Cleaned Her up for the first time, clay bar'd the entire jeep, what a mess, so much rail dust and tar... put on a few coats of this and that... paint feels like glass... pretty nice

Waiting for my new Valve Lash Adjusters/Lifters to get here... started to do this...
going to do the lash adjusters and the oil pan at the same time...
looking pretty good, i will roll just a tiny bit of the lip to keep it stiff..

Re: What Did You Do To Your GC Today
Finally got around to replacing my oil pan...
The gasket is supposed to be reusable... i cant see any way of removing it without damage...
So i did end up using Kleen Flo's 5 Minute Engine Flush (stock 637 Blue Bottle), and judging by the condition of my intake manifold when i cleaned that, and well the crap that came out when i did the flush... that stuff is liquid gold, the engine was really clean internally for 187,000km's... checked the connecting rods to any slack and everything feels mint
so i've put in the valve lash adjusters, Cleaned the intake manifold installed new gaskets, installed a heatshield between the intake manifold and the block to hopefully lower IAT temps... cleaned the injectors and installed new O rings, new valve cover gaskets since the right cover gasket broke several times, new hoses for the Vac, Evap & CCV breathers...
tomorrow i plan on removing my O2 sensors and cleaning them up with the air compressor and the torch lol and reattaching my exhaust and taking her for a spin as its been a few days now...
heres hoping i regain a few MPG, or get longer life out of this thing lol...

OMG its soo much smoother, and seems quieter shockingly... even with an exhaust leak at the manifold going to have to get the old manifold to down pipes burnt out...
still plan to clean the 02 sensors, will leave that for tomorrow...

Re: What Did You Do To Your GC Today
still didn't clean 02 sensors, but i did pick up 1.5" wheel spacers for the Jeep
I also removed the cats, and the jeep is so much quieter on the highway... the tires are louder LOL ofcourse until the skinny pedal goes down...

Re: What Did You Do To Your GC Today
Installed the front spacers... finally got around to replacing the tiny studs that they provided...
thats how much stud engagement there was to my factory wheels, not enough for my liking anyways...
new studs installed, stud lined up and torque wrench set to 130ftlbs and just a tiny bit extra and it was fully bottomed out... also 130ft lbs is higher than id ever torque the wheels, so i know their pulled in all the way...
looking pretty good IMO

Re: What Did You Do To Your GC Today
Always something... my window regulator broke... and well it wasn't a simple fix... the cable binded up as well as the classic plastic breaking
so i replaced the cable with a brake cable from a mountain bike which is slightly smaller gauge, and some JB weld to lock it all together... go to reassemble... and the cable seems like its too short... so i had to cut the jacket just a bit, hopefully it will reinstall correctly...
almost thought about selling it today... dont think i could get what i want for it though... but for sure would be able to break even

Re: What Did You Do To Your GC Today
I dont know, but id love to punch them LOL... although it does make a quick fix... i ended up ditching the JB weld and plastic for a short self tapping screw... just wrapped the cable around and locked it down... quick and painless...
now i have to pull the studs thru the spacers for the rear... then i'll be happy
