Peter, that was an ignorant post! Gasoline engines are much cleaner that
diesel, it's just the Federal laws haven't been applied to them yet,
probably because they would effect our transportation and industry. But

is basically a "Nutter Bypass" as it never had a computer, just the
ignition brain box, and it burns clean:

then folks fiddle to make them run. Sure they run, but.....

Getting the idle mix to 'best lean' does them wonders, but everything
has to be working to get there.

I wasn't arguing that diesels are cleaner or better for the environment,
just that "stinky" is subjective.

There ya go, I haven't had the opportunity to be a professional diesel
driver myself. Maybe if I had I wouldn't feel that gasoline-powered vehicles
without modern emissions controls can be just as "stinky" as the average
diesel??
