County is taking over Greene Street from the state this year. As a result
the state has to bring it up to "standards" before the transfer. In my
opinion (and that of a lot of people in town) the state is doing the
absolute minimum that can be called acceptable. We also got money from the
same people who did our piece of ---- skating rink for side walks at the
same time. If you look closely you will see that those fancy new side walks
are only four inches thick. This is in a town with some rather extreme
temperature fluctuations in winter and water lines nine feet deep to prevent
freezing. After the first winter we might be back to dirt. :o(

I think I know which one you mean, I ran into it last April in Moab of all
places. If it's the green one I'm thinking about I used to see it here in
town from time to time, and it is indeed sweet.
In the old days hard core Silvertonians must have doe a lot of miles in
Power Wagons, in fact I think there are a few Power Wagon carcasses at the
bottom of Ophir Pass!
I went to college at Western New Mexico U. back in the '70's. I worked part
time on a ranch in Cliff, NM and had a totally worn out Power Wagon to use
as a work truck. Loved the Hell out of it...when it ran.
Hey, what the Hell is going on with the Cascade, anyway?
