Re: Tomb Raider Rubicon
No kidding! My uncle is a veteran jeeper. He hasn't wheeled in 25 years
(veteran?) but any Jeep that has anymore than what he had is "new fangled
crap". What a sorry attitude. We as customers, or potential customers of DC
should be lucky they still have an interest in keeping us happy, as opposed
to building low rider junk with 4WD and soccer ball holders. Front and rear
dash controlled lockers, a 4:1 transfer case, and the friggin JEEP emblem in
the same place it has been for decades should be making all of those
"veterans" happy. Instead, they sound like a bunch of blue jays on a friggin
fence post crying "new crap" "new crap", without any knowledge of what the F
they are talking about.
Yes, I have had a few beers today while cutting down a pain in rear peach
tree, and mowing the lawn after 2 weeks without a cut. I will now go back to
regular old Red Racer yappng about how good aluminum radiators are, and why
everyone should run a 160 thermostat. But, a Rubicon is what thy offer. If
you don't like it, buy an old CJ, or a square headlight thing and spend 10K
making it into a manly Jeep. I'm going for the new stuff. They are cool, and
capable, even with the AC on and the blender running. The rocks are all the
same size guys....

Eric,
I realize that. It was simply a figure of speech. I'll drink beer instead.
Sorry.

Re: Tomb Raider Rubicon
Hey twaldron.... I've made my case..... :) read on....
Ribbing? I can take plenty of it. I'm just saying that it is "veterans"
like you that have a closed mind. Maybe a course in a local community
college on auto technology will enlighten you a bit Earle. Cars (and Jeeps)
have computers now, and everything else that comes with them including
"technology".
I have a CJ-7. I like it, and am satisfied with it. It does exactly what I
want it do, in some of the roughest terrain that you have probably been on.
A new Rubicon can do the same thing, and if it has a blender option, all the
better. Sorry about the square headlight line, but if you had read the
message, you would have gotten the point. I am a good driver, and can wheel
a Rubicon just as well as I can wheel my CJ. New stuff is good, and not "new
crap". I'll take the class with you, may need some help with your homework.
Usenet? I maybe don't belong here? It is people like me that attempt to keep
the perspective, not ruin it. Maybe you should take a "time out". Get real
man, there are things known as "today's stuff", and you like my uncle, are
living there with no forward vision. Too bad.

Earle, read it again, we're on your side down here. If one more Californian
moves here and pays 2 million for a 150k house the Durangoans will be
carrying the torches.

that all the folks in Silverton with the old CJs & even the flaties might
think YOU'RE a rich sissie what with that YJ and all?)
By the way, who the hell is "George"
