I think I know which one you mean, I ran into it last April in Moab of all
places. If it's the green one I'm thinking about I used to see it here in
town from time to time, and it is indeed sweet.
In the old days hard core Silvertonians must have doe a lot of miles in
Power Wagons, in fact I think there are a few Power Wagon carcasses at the
bottom of Ophir Pass!
I went to college at Western New Mexico U. back in the '70's. I worked part
time on a ranch in Cliff, NM and had a totally worn out Power Wagon to use
as a work truck. Loved the Hell out of it...when it ran.
Hey, what the Hell is going on with the Cascade, anyway?

I really don't understand the anti-Rubicon sentiments. The newsgroup has
been collectively bitching about improvements that should been made to the
TJ, and when DC does do something about it, slag the vehicle off because
some ******** buy it and even dare to go offroad in it !! Meanwhile, back at
the ranch, we are saving up to buy the transfer case, lockers and D44 front
axle. Is there some sort of unwritten "you have to earn these things" rule
that is biting?

Dave, I DID earn my Rubi. Every last cent I spend on it too. As far as
the anti-Rubicon sentiments, I think those come from a relatively few
loud-mouthed individuals without self-control nor the where-with-all to
make the purchase. As Earle pointed out, 'sour grapes'.
As far as older technology, I'd love to have another CJ. In fact, I'd
love to have a Jay Leno sized warehouse full of them. Along with old
FJ40s, early Broncos, Mustangs, Porsches, etc. etc. Appreciating the old
does not give me blinders to the fact that the Rubicon is the best
out-of-the-box Jeep ever produced. Period.

I got the impression that article was one of those tongue-in-cheek things, and
they included the Rubicon to get a rise out of people. Though I wouldn't own a
Surrey, and may not go out and buy most of what's on that list, I sure wouldn't
mind owning a CJ 3B or an FC truck.

I'm sure you did, no offense intended.
I'd love a CJ and a Rubicon too. As a CJ is a fairly scarce and rusty
proposition here sadly, I'll just have to hope the Rubicon makes it over..
