Re: Jeep TJ - Does anyone know where i can find 30 spline axle shafts for d35c?
If I actually had any hair, I surely would pull it out talking to you.
The discussion is, what size tires can the D35 support? You said it won't take anything smaller than 33s, then you point out that anything larger than the stock tires require a lift. What in Hell has a lift got to do with this? Of course lift is needed, but lift has no bearing on the strength of the axles. And, the OP is considering installing 30-spline axles, which are equivelent to the D44, making the entire slideshow of D35 Borken Axles that you linked us to as completely irrelevent. "L.W. And if you had read my post I wrote, you too would realize what I
wrote, I quote in it's entirety, "Nothing's bigger than 33" on my page of broken axles". It's a statement plain and simple, don't be making a mountain out of a mole hill. Re: Jeep TJ - Does anyone know where i can find 30 spline axle shafts for d35c?
alright then maybe i'll just put in a detroit true-trac limited slip
in the rear. would that work better and be safer for the d35? |

Re: Jeep TJ - Does anyone know where i can find 30 spline axle shafts for d35c?
If you are really considering getting the 30 spline axles, then you should
do it. Any version of the 27 spline axles you have now will be essentially the same, from the perspective of strength. There are all of the obvious differences in terms of performance or function of the various 27 spline options, but they are all essentially the same strength. The 30 spline shafts are equivelent to the D44 for most people, and far superior to any of the 27 spline options. If you can get a TruTrac in a 30 splint configuration, then yes, it would be better for the D35.
