Jeep TJ - Does anyone know where i can find 30 spline axle shafts for d35c?

Hello,
I currently have a dana 35c rear axle with 33" tires. Im adding a
powertrax no-slip locker into it soon. while im there i plan to
upgrade the axle shafts to 30 spline. I would like to know where on
the internet (or anywhere that delivers) i could find 30 spline axle
shafts for a dana 35c. I understand that superior has them, but i do
not want a detroit locker (its my daily driver) that is included with
a "super 35" kit. I also have heard of people here who have moser
shafts but i cant find them anywhere for the dana 35.

Also, when installing the locker, will the old axle slide right out if
i pull the c-clips? Will they come out freely and would the 30 spline
shafts replace the same way easily?

Thanks
Derek

Re: Jeep TJ - Does anyone know where i can find 30 spline axle shafts for d35c?

That sounds alot like the Super35 Kit from Superior Gear. I got my Superior
Gear one-piece axles for my AMC20 from a place in Corona, CA., called
DriveTrains Direct. My guess is that you could probably get them from Bob
Supplee as well. Bob is probably cheaper.

The shafts will slide right out, but the spider gears will need to be
replaced because they have a different spline count.

What are you saying Bill!?

The 30-spline shafts should give him as close to the strength of the D44
without actually installing a D44. The Super35 axle shafts are a great buy
and a good investment for this guy.

I'd rather have the very best available, but sometimes I have ---- to work
with and have to make the best out of the situation at hand.

I think the OPs plan to put a 30-spline in is a good one. Not the best plan,
but a good one.

Re: Jeep TJ - Does anyone know where i can find 30 spline axle shafts for d35c?

Problem is he wants to install 30 spline axles with a No-Slip (not a 30
spline locker.)

There's no way to go to 30 spline in a D35, without a 30 spline locker (as
in the Super 35 kit). The very first (no longer available) Super 35 kits
came with a lock right. Then a Detroit, then OX/Detroit, now
ARB/Detroit.....but nowhere was there a No-Slip, so he can't use 30 spline
shafts with the No-Slip, even if he could find 30 spline shafts (Superior
or Randy's R&P make 'em)

Yeah the powertrax No-Slip seemingly replaces the spider gears so new
ones will not be needed. However, with this in mind i was wondering
if the no-slip locker for the dana 35c would work with 30 spline
shafts, since it was designed probably for 27 spline axle shafts.

I don't see how you could have room to cut a bigger "C" clip into
these little spiders: http://----------.com/dana35c/dana35cclip.jpg This
site mentions a machined carrier to except the larger axles, and that
the carrier became too weak:

Re: Jeep TJ - Does anyone know where i can find 30 spline axle shafts for d35c?

Yukon sells a set of "heavy duty" 27 spline axle shafts for $279 a
pair.

http://www.4x4rockshop.com/scripts/p...idproduct=2047

They have a 5 year warranty and are supposedly stronger than OEM
stock. would these work better than the stock shafts? I was figuring
i might run these if they are stronger than stock and use the stock
shafts as my spares. Money is tight, so an arb or ox locker is out of
the question. A detroit wouldnt work with my daily driver, and i
believe i can install the powertrax no-slip locker myself.

And they're worthless as an upgrade... which would also contribute to a
false sense of increased strength and security.
