It's the diameter more than anything, the larger diameter exerts more
leverage on the splines, Yes, there is some truth that narrower tires will slip sooner, but I think you would be better served with the 30-spline axles and a locker than the 27-spline and the NoSlip. Measure their pictures with some home made dividers on your screen, proportion them against known distances like the fifteen inch rims they're on.
