Much as I hate to say I agree with Brian, I'd do the same. ;)
I'm just suggesting that you email him the pic and get his opinion on
it. He's very been helpful to me in the past and especially since you're
not trying to "get" anything out of it, just trying to determine what
might have happened. He may have a whole batch of bad u-joints to get
rid of, so I don't get one. :)

Re: Got CJ7 fixed, anyone want to bush run in Ontario Ca. for acoupledays?
I will agree as well.
Maybe it was a bad cast that didn't end up with the grease channels open
to each other.
If it was a bad batch, you still have 2 more of them in there with a
potential to be grease dry.
I would be pumping grease into the others to make darn sure grease comes
out all 4 cups.

Maybe it was a bad cast that didn't end up with the grease channels open
to each other.
If it was a bad batch, you still have 2 more of them in there with a
potential to be grease dry.
I would be pumping grease into the others to make darn sure grease comes
out all 4 cups.

Re: Got CJ7 fixed, anyone want to bush run in Ontario Ca. for a coupledays?
I've sent a message with a link to the image to Tom Wood's. I removed the
drive shaft last night while replacing the tcase output seal - used an old
plastic bathtub faucet as a seal installer! While the shaft was out, I
greased the snot out of it and made sure that grease came out of all the
u-joint caps. It did.
