Got CJ7 fixed, anyone want to bush run in Ontario Ca. for a couple days?
 

So I got my frame 'fixed' this week and want to hit the bush for a
couple days.

Well, 'fixed' is one way of putting it, they had to replace almost 2' of
my frame at the rear of the drivers side spring. There was nothing
left, literally. Buddy at the shop could grab my bumper and lift up and
down on it.... He had to cut off the body mount wing, well he had to
unbolt it and it almost fell off...

My wife and I are leaving Toronto Saturday at supper time and coming
back late Monday night or Tuesday.

It is supposed to be warm too! +8 C if the weather man is to be
believed, so could be one pile of mud in there. :-)

We will be hitting the bush North of Kingston near Bon Echo park in an
active logging area running on dual use trails. (snowmobile and
logging) Same place we normally go in at the east trail head.

I know the timing is strange, but if anyone in the area want to come in
for a Sunday trip or for a couple days we will be there.

I do have GPS tags for the turn off and the cabin we are aiming for so
if folks want to email me I can give GPS tags and good directions.

Oh boy, 8 degrees C. That's 46.4 F. Whoo Hooo!!

I have a deep respect for you frostys up north. Especially going jeepin in
the stuff.

It's in the lower 60s F this weekend and that's about 10 to 15 degrees
colder than I like it.



I didn't know you could repair a frame like that. I was under the
impression after it was bent or broken the structure would never be as good.
Is this wrong thinking? Can a frame be repaired and be in good shape in the
future?

Oh ya, it will be top and doors off for sure! I'll get lots of photos.

And yup, my frame is shot. The band aids will keep it going for a while
I hope, but it needs to be changed.

I did break it at the back on the passenger side front of rear spring 3
years ago and that band aid has held fine so....

I need to box both sides where the rear spring shackles bolt on as well,
there is almost nothing left there too.
