That is wonderful to note, but the freight from US to New Zealand (about USD350, plus local importation clearance fee and goods and services tax at 12.50%) makes it the same price as the ARB from their local dealer delivered to their shop.

And yes I am talking about the actual ARB rear bumper.

Real nice, but price was out of this world.

Check out garvins wilderness bumper. Lots of accessories to put on
her. I have the front and rear and love them. Hilift, gas cans,
shovel, ax, etc. Accepts the proprietary garvin rear rack. Plus you
get the 2" receiver, and options to put on 2 big arse d rings for when
it really gets bad.

I spoke to the guys at ARB and he said its a six hour install. He has just done one recently to another Wrangler and it was a pain to install. I am just wondering what other people's experience has been.

The ARB one has a hitch and two D-ring slots at the rear. It is rated to 900kgs towing.

Here in New Zealand, if you have an airbag then the front bumper has to have a certificate from the manufacturer (crash test and all) saying the bumper does not alter the airbag trigger and safety feature. Local engineering shops are reluctant to produce one because of all the testing involved. ARB and TJM bars certified, I think so are the Warn bumpers.

Up here in Canada they do random and long weekend safety checks all the
time and these cops know their stuff. They would bust you big time if
they saw you towing via your bumper.

On the front bumpers with d-rings you need to be sure and only use one
ring at a time. If you use both at the same time, the lever action can
compress the bumper bending it and the frame into the center. I have
factory tow hooks on the front frame of my Jeep and it warns about this
in the owners manual.
