Re: 95' GC Laredo - Odd Power/Start Problem
The battery cable I think you're thinking of goes directly to the
engine block and almost never a problem, but I would like to reinforce
what Mike said, as the engine to body ground for the most part supplies
your headlights, blower, fuel pump, radio, ignition computers, goes
through that engine head to cowel connection, it's made of mesh, that's
designed to take vibration, but after bending that coat hanger back and
forth for ten years will be broken.

Re: 95' GC Laredo - Odd Power/Start Problem
The battery cable ground on the 95 ZJ goes to the inner fender right
near the battery. There is no large ground from the battery area to
the engine.

Say what?
Umm try that again, you mean no ground from the engine to body, the main
ground is from the battery to block with the secondary wire going to the
fender. This means it likely has one mesh strap across an engine mount
too.

Re: 95' GC Laredo - Odd Power/Start Problem
Hi Lon,
That couldn't be the original design. Look at the gauge of that
cable all manufacturers would want it to go directly to grounding the
starter, the shorter the better. Your Kraut car with it's positive
ground would look misleading. I see the WJ is kind of misleading, too as
it runs two battery cables per terminal, one goes to the fender.
