Care to bet?
Checked it against two other ZJ's of same year, including the service
manager's.
Aware that there is likely a big ground somewhere, but as noted, the big
black cable from the battery negative is very short and goes straight to
the inner fender on the passengers side. This is specifically on the
I-6, your mileage may vary.

Had the engine ever been pulled, the ground strap is easy to
forget, usually pulled with the engine but when stripped to be tanked is
forgotten. Or one of those things we just don't have time for before it
goes out.
