Re: What Did You Do To Your GC Today
Hey guy's, back from a week of relaxation in the Pass.
Sorry to hear about the wingman Mike, hopefully it doesn't happen again. Champion bloodline usually means inbred till it's retarded.
I still think if you pinned the broken piece it will help hold it in place a bit better than just the JB when the pressure and heat are building up in the tranny but hopefully it'll hold up until you can get the 5 speed figured out.
*****, welcome to the board! and welcome to ZJ electrical hell...I mean, hope you enjoy the Jeep :)
Sounds like your voltage guage is just dying. Pick a part special, the guage in mine has died twice so if your getting 14.3 while it's running I wouldn't worry about it to much.
When your headlights and dashlights start to flicker let me know and I'll tell you how to fix it.
Craig, post up some pics to put us in the Christmas spirit, mind you if I have to go into one more store that's been playing carols since the day after Halloween I'm going to scream.
So the year end camping trip went great. I'm very impressed with the IRO skid, I completely missed my line coming down a drop and the Jeep actually dropped onto then slid across the plate and onto the sliders with no damage to anything other than the muffler/ tailpipe itself and it needed to be replaced anyways. The factory plate would have been a permanent part of what was left of the T/C. Hit hard enough that I thought I relocated my butt up around my shoulder blades. (Note to self: Fire #1 son as spotter)
The only other casualty on the trip was just after we got home and started to unpack, #1 son procceded to drop our brand new 40D into the Crowsnest River trying to get a picture of all the Jeep's on the trip.....
I've offered him for sale here before, if anyone is interested I'm willing to negotiate a very reasonable price for him. :)
Hopefully some of the other guy's have some pics of me on the bank so I can post them up.

Re: What Did You Do To Your GC Today
Welcome back Dan....
Your trip sounds like an excursion to say the least...
Everything seems to be ticking like it should now...Just have to test the grid in the rear window as the resr defrost isn't working. Got the battery gauge figured out. seems the interior light was on all night, (no fault of mine) causing severe drain and she has worked herself back up to full power...I have to get the rear hatch latch secured and fix the lock actuator which isn't working...
At our local meet on sunday, I waz pointed to a reputable wrecker in our area that has many Jeeps in stock, so it's sounds like an outdoor shopping event soon...

Re: What Did You Do To Your GC Today
When you live in an area like this things tend to get a little hard on the Jeep at times. :)
Glad to hear the guage wasn't anything major, electrical can be a real pain at times to deal with.

Replaced both side marker bulbs on the 95' ZJ, 4 in total. I now have orange lights! I'm taking her to the Jeep dealership garage tomorrow for an inspection. The guy who's going to do the work on her is a ZJ fan, so lucky me! I'm hoping everything is fine and just minor things to fix that I can do at home. Let you all know tomorrow!

Re: What Did You Do To Your GC Today
Looks like a fun time was had and for a good cause too. Some great pics in there.
Hopefully I'll be able to make it to the Edmonton toy run this year, as long as something stupid doesn't happen at work.

Re: What Did You Do To Your GC Today
Mechanic called with the details of his inspection......my heart sank! He says this needs attention: Track Bar, Link Kit, (2) Shocks, (4) Damper, all of which I am getting done for a rip off of 1400$ all in. Other things that needs to be done that I can't afford right now: Front and Rear Pinion, Front Disk, Rear Dif Seal, Transfer Case, Rear Brakes, Rear Disk Plug, Brake and Power Steering Flush. I'm living in a motel right now and just moved to Canmore, so I can't do anything myself. He says if I was to get everything done, 2600$ without tax! **** ME! And I still have to buy winter tires.....
