NGK's were installed by previous owner...

So what does that plug say, Too Hot and Carbon Deposits... also fully worn (around the electrode the ceramic dips in)

so the heatrange on these plugs are 6 which is hot... and 7 is the factory spec... guess what i just put in... 7's

well, i hope the new ones work a little better for you...

what plugs did you replace them with? champions? it did say substituting a different part number could cause engine damage...

is it possible the plugs are so worn because they aren't the proper heat range? if they were 6 and it was meant to have 7's, maybe they just couldn't handle the extra heat as well as the 7's do...

i'll admit, i don't know a lot about plugs, but sounds possible to me... maybe mrwhite or oldfart might be able to shed some more light on this...

well its the lifespan mostly that degrades when a hotter plug is installed... they were platinum tipped which is what they specify in newer engines as they don't wear as fast as copper... extending the service intervals...

Most plugs are copper cored since its a great conductor of electricity and the tips are shaped and coated in nickel platinum or iridium

but in my case being too hot of a plug, the ceramic degrades and weakens the plug since there's less concentration of current at the tip, less spark, harder on the coils...

copper is ideal but being a softer metal wears much faster but offer the best performance

this is what i gathered from about 3 hours of reading up on plugs lol

Got my second keyfob and a second key cut and programmed for my jeep... (so now i can program a 3rd on my own) also some transfercase fluid from the stealership... $204 later... was supposed to be 45 minutes, i was there for 2 hours... like wow...

said to them dont bother asking me for a new jeep, i want a Grand Wagoneer, or a Diesel Wrangler... which isn't available now so dont bother...

...that reminds me... i need a second key as well. another fob would be a bonus, but the dealers here want too much. they wanted to hit me up for $125 when my current fob was screwing up, and i told them to go pound sand. damn chipped keys! i miss the old days when you could just hit up the hardware store and get a new set cut for the price of a cup of coffee, lol...

yeah i miss my ZJ for that... i actually still have a pair of keys for it lol...
I just hope that the keyfobs are programmed correctly for the memory seating in the Jeep... wife and i sit different positions but close enough to actually get in and be cramped... would be great to have the jeep change the seat settings for us...

fuel economy has gone up now, im half way thru my tank, and im over 200km's so its definitely doing better, And i still have all new gear oil, friction modifier and transfer case fluids to put in... the transmission has been flushed already (had to get the pan replaced when i bought it...)

weather is not co-operating at all

glad to hear it... just remember the bottom half of the tank is smaller than the upper half.

my upper half tank last a long time, but the last half to 3/8's goes pretty quick...

ohh i remember lol.. but considering previous tank at half i only managed around 110km just past half... so being over 200km is definetly a noticable improvement... it feels happier aswell...

some warmer weather or some time in a shop and i'll have all the fluids swapped and im sure it'll help

also considering removing the rear cat and putting on a Dynomax Ultra Flo like i had on my old WJ... or buying a Race Bullet... not sure
