Well there are 2 motors available in eastern canada... $1100 for about the same mileage motor, $1850 for one with only 57,000km, has to be somewhere in quebec.. A remanufactured with 3 year warantee is $3000... and a new from the dealership is $8300 LOL

Might be in luck, apparently my friend knows of one that i should be able to snatch for $200... its in a Dakota, which means possibly swapping the flex plate, exhaust manifolds and motor mounts naturally...

will find out more tomorrow... hopefully i'll get to go down and check it out

Well I have found a motor last week... A stock 4.7L for $150... I drilled and tapped knock sensors into the block... cleaned it all up, installed my H.O. Heads and everything else from my jeep onto the block... and will hopefully have it bolted to the trans tomorrow... and have her turn the wheels under her own grunt again...

I have pics but can't find how to attach on my phone lol

Well she's running like a champion... I had set my timing chain off by one tooth... Threw the compression out of whack... Was causing misfires... But all is well now... She is no longer making the ticking noise before and after a shift... Woo!

Heres a few of the pics... so you can see how i rotated the camshaft one tooth and voila runs like a champion...

Also a picture of the damage to my original HO connecting rod...

last photo is just how nasty my fuel rail is... and i had cleaned it fairly recently... so i've got a new fuel filter to install, i wish it were diesel cause then you know they would have the filter in a easy to access location.
