When I buy something I like to try it in the store before I leave. I've had to return stuff too many times that don't work brand new out of the box. I've had incidents where it don't work out of the box and then a yelling and screaming match ensues when they refuse to change it.

Oh yeah thats me too lol... i like to keep it close to factory as possible but if my cd player keeps acting up its going to have to go, i really like having my aux input... and USB would be even more than ideal... i have 64GB in my Jetta and wouldn't mind having he same tunes in the Jeep...

i even entertained the thought of the wood grain and found this...

but yeah its a leap of faith that it all works when you order online, who wants to ship something back... not me... and the other thing is will the steering controls work the same with the aftermarket head unit or will they try and make it do something else... i dunno...

well i got my cd player out of the jeep, and q-tip and rubbing alcohol i cleaned the lens, and she's playing perfect again...
although what worried me, i found a random spring inside the cd player, not attached to anything, its working flawlessly though, so i dont know what thats all about, although i didn't try the cassette lol...

There are more springs involved in the tape mechanism than the cd unit. If the cd is working fine I would just stick with that, tapes don't like playing at these temperatures anyway.
I tried the usb on mine today and it worked fine. Still can't get the blue tooth working though, must be some kind of mental block. Phones are still somewhat of a mystery to me, I don't get along well with them.

Re: What Did You Do To Your GC Today

bluetooth in my Jetta's Pioneer headunit is so annoying, it can only hold 4 devices in its memory for the auto connect... and drives me nuts when bluetooth is off on the phone, it pops up a message that it cannot auto connect every time you turn it on, and does not go away until you hit the cancel button...

yeah im not worried about the casette, and audio quality degrades a little thru bluetooth, but having a auxiliary line should help, heck even if i can just get my sirius radio set up id be happy.

...this stuff can work wonders, it cleared up a recurring misfire in a friend's ford, smoothed out the idle in another friend's car, can be used to clean up O2 sensors, can be added to gas, diesel, oil... and its easy to use.
