I will do a search on this; thanks for the advice. A good friend owns a
wonderful, 30-year old Revereware teapot, and I foolishly thought I
would be able to purchase another like it.
To hell with American corporate strategy. They all bitch about
Americans not buying American-made products. Fact is, they're selling
foreign-made CRAP and we refuse to buy.

Guys, WE are responsible for this. As a Sales Rep for a major auto
aftermarket company until a couple of months ago, I can tell you that
4 out of 5 customers only want to know "how much" when shopping parts.
Hell(wal)-Mart can keep everything they have, I have not darkened
their doors in almost 2 years and won't ever unless it is an
emergency. They actively TRY to force American companies to buy
Chinese crap by demanding a given price, and they could not care less
about quality or patriotism.
More of us need to start responding like "Stu-Man" above. Make them
show you where it was manufactured and "Just say NO to Junk"! It is
you and your childrens future that you are selling when you buy
foreign products.

Agreed. It isn't only Wally World that sells foreign crap; most of the
major retailers now do. I'm slowly getting into the habit of looking to
see where the item was mfd, and if it ain't the USA, I keep looking.
And I don't care about the price anymore: I want quality, and I want
Americans producing things I buy.
Same goes for automotive purchases. I'm sure that some Jeep parts are
assembled or mfgd overseas, but it's about as American as you can get
these days.

Re: Watch those parts weasles
Same for new vehicles, I would NOT buy a product of Daimler Chrysler.
It may be manufactured here, but any final profits will be sent to the
parent company. Same goes for all the "Jap Crap" vehicles running
the roads, assembled here and profits go back to Japan/Korea.
I have been a DIE HARD MoPar guy since 1970, however I will never buy
another NEW one. As I see it, Ford is the closest thing to an
American Auto Company still left and I intend to patronize them
instead.
