Locked with an autolocker, Bill's right in that a spool will cause you
problems.

Re: True-Track LSD in D30 (TJ) front axle?
Ninety percent of the time I will four wheel and leave one
unlocked, only if I get stuck will I lock the other. Glamis is soft
enough that I will go ahead and lock them up. This picture I was soooo
tired of turning it by the time I made it up TDS's Spider Hill. The
backing down to take another shot at it, I remember well, because I was
using both my hands on one side of the wheel and lifting my weight in a
jerking motion to steer: http://www.----------.com/spiderhill.jpg

Re: True-Track LSD in D30 (TJ) front axle?
Now I am confused - not about the reality of what really happens, but about
what you guys are saying. .
Hubs locked OR hubs unlocked, in 2WD an autolocker (like a Detroit or
LockRight) is absolutely no problem, despite what Bill might have to say.
Hubs locked in 2WD with a spool is going to be a difficult drive. Hubs
unlocked in this instance should be no particular problem.

Re: True-Track LSD in D30 (TJ) front axle?
I have no problem with a lockers being used without hubs. It's the
limited slip, spring loaded in good working condition that I believe
should be a problem.
