Two weeks ago I traded my spotless 2001 WJ with less than 24k on the clock
so I could get an F350 to pull my YJ ona trailer. Even though I'd pulled the
NADA, Kelley and EDmunds trade values off the web and printed them the WJ
was shockingly worthless in the eyes of the Ford dealer, who tried to give
me loan value, rather than clean wholesale. I retired from Ford so I get
their products at cost less rebates, so the guy wasn't going to make but
$500 on the deal and was trying to make it up on the trade. I fianlly got
them up to NADA clean wholesale, but it still sucked. I was tempted to try
and sell it myself, but they're not moving well right now since the new
one's out in a few weeks. All I can say, whoever buys it is getting a great
vehicle, just too small to yank my YJ & trailer around.
BTW, the F350 Power Stroke is THE TICKET for towing.

Re: totally jeepless till unlimited rubi
I'm curious, how much did you get for the XJ? We're kicking ourselves for
not just buying smaller tires instead of putting that lift on last year.
Shelled out almost $2000 in repairs since. Still having problems with my
wife's XJ. Not to mention I think we over-paid for it!

certainly, makes all the difference in the world. my powerstroke was ok stock,
but chipping it turned it into a real beast. it amazes me to see these huge
trucks cranking out so much power with such little modification. take a look
at this f350 diesel crew cab running the quarter mile in 11.42@118mph
http://tinyurl.com/4gc79
my cummins is pushing 600ft. lbs stock, the powerstroke is around 800 with the
chip and im getting ready to swap out the turbo and retrofit a '99 intercooler.
looked at a chip today that takes the cummins to 950ft. lbs with nothing more
than the chip. i doubt i do that though, i just dont have any need for that
kind of power and question how long the rest of the drivetrain would stand up
to it.
