That's not the point. The factory Wrangler engines make only 150 to 200 HP,
so why couldn't they get better mileage with a newer tech engine? You don't
need the full 400 HP.

If they put that technology into the TJ engine, most of us couldn't
afford it, let alone buy it and then beat it. :) Eventually, they will
kill the straight six with a much more efficient V6, but you won't like
it as much, until they get the low end torque up there.

it's physically impossible to get better mileage.
