TJ engine swap - 4.0 to something with better MPG?

Re: TJ engine swap - 4.0 to something with better MPG?
He got all the logical answers, just not the one he wanted to justify
his project. If he started out saying that he wanted to do this project
and knew he would never recoup his investment, the outcome might have
differed. Fact is, his reasons for doing the project were glaring and
that's why he didn't get much in the way of "use a GM V6 XXXXX for your
really cool project". People do Jeep engine swaps for a variety of
reasons, mpg is just not usually one of them.
My ultimate suggestion to the OP, is to purchase a fuel efficient car
for daily drudgery and keep his Jeep for sheer fun, orig. motor intact.
Either way, I'd be interested in hearing about any engine swap for
whatever reasons, good luck!!

Oh I agree he got all the answers, but you'll not see him here again. It's
the wording. And few replys, were worded civil. I'm by no means a kinder
gentler type, but I do believe in respect. And when someone asks a question,
he should be respected enough to be given the courtesy of an honest answer
that's not demeaning.

Re: TJ engine swap - 4.0 to something with better MPG?
That's not the point. The factory Wrangler engines make only 150 to 200 HP,
so why couldn't they get better mileage with a newer tech engine? You don't
need the full 400 HP.

so why couldn't they get better mileage with a newer tech engine? You don't
need the full 400 HP.

Re: TJ engine swap - 4.0 to something with better MPG?
That's not the point. The factory Wrangler engines make only 150 to 200 HP,
so why couldn't they get better mileage with a newer tech engine? You don't
need the full 400 HP.
