Re: stripped lugnuts

Those nuts are the 'correct' size with that sheetmetal cap on it. If you
try and loosen stuck nuts with the same socket, you'll end up rounding
them. Try a socket 1mm smaller if the cap is wasted or completely off.

The caps are 3/4" and the inner nuts are 18mm. I've tried other sizes,
nothing else fit

Re: stripped lugnuts

Well, I have no _good_ ideas, except that is it possible that you are using
a fraction wrench when you should be using a metric wrench?

If your selected fraction is a bit oversize, and the nuts are stuck tight,
then the likely result will be rounded corners.

I'd suggest trying some other sizes that are not intuitive, maybe an 17mm
instead of 3/4". I'd also try a 1/2" drive with a breaker bar and perhaps a
length of pipe to give you added leverage. I also suggest a good squirt of
Liquid Wrench, and allow it to soak in overnight.

I am not sure what the actual size is of the lug nuts, but I think there is
a good chance you assume fraction sizes where your selection should be
metric. They use a size called USO that tries to use universal (metric and
fraction) sizes that compliment one another. Having said that, I helped a
buddy install a lift kit to his TJ, and we found that there were a wide
mixture of metric and fraction sizes, occasionally on the same fasterner
set -- the nut would be one while the head of the bolt would be another. In
many cases, the sizes were close, but we definitely got a better fit from
one socket instead of the other.

Re: stripped lugnuts

Those are the correct sizes.

You can get reverse sockets now. They have a spiral grip bit and grab
harder the harder you turn. I have heard those do good things.
