Re: still looking
Mike,
I believe he can put the grill or front clip from an 87+ model on it, to fit a 4.0 engine. This might make enough room for a V8. It seems like a lot of work though. There is a lot of information on the Advance Adapters web site, including the 3.8 GM V6 conversion, but it doesn't look as if they have actually done one. http://advanceadapters.com. This engine comes supercharged in some vehicles. A guy in Littleton, CO put a GM V8 diesel in one, after finding out all the fixes to get decent service life out of the engine. He bolted it up to a stock AX5 transmission though, which he had to rebuild every 40,000 miles or so. I believe it is a firewall issue more than a front clip issue. The
front clips are the same length as far as I remember about them. Mike Earle Horton wrote: > Mike, > > I believe he can put the grill or front clip from an 87+ model on it, to fit > a 4.0 engine.
