How does this impact socket work?
I was thinking it was something what those indy pit guys used...with an air
gun and all.

The impact-driver is about a ten dollar tool that fits in the palm
of your hand: http://www.----------.com/impactDriver.jpg and uses 3/8"
sockets. We turn it in the direction we want to go and it ***** at about
an eighth of a turn, then smack it with a hammer.

works kinda like those "automatic" punches for mark drill spots. Just push
it in with a couple pounds pressure and it ***** up and releases with a good
kick. No need for a hammer on those...
