Sandman,
If you actually read the Libertarian party platform, one of the basic tenets
is that laws should be enforced, as written and equally. Another is that
unconstitutional laws should be removed. A couple of years ago, a party
member decided to practice some civil disobedience against Denver's gun law,
which he said was unconstitutional. He strapped on a sidearm in a public
place, allowed himself to be arrested, and went to court to fight it.
Contrast honorable civil disobedience like this, with dishonest sneaky
taking the law into your own hands, which your Montana/Idaho wolf poachers
practice, and which you claim you do not. (But you wouldn't tell anyone if
you did.)
Libertarians believe, that government is a necessary evil. We have to have
laws, because we just can't agree on everything. But laws should follow the
constitution, and people who do not agree with any particular law, do not
get a free ticket to disobey. That weakens the system, and we have to have
a system to survive.
You obviously differentiate betwee "just" laws, which you consent to obey,
and "unjust" laws, which you do not feel bound by. True Libertarians abide
by the laws, except when they practice honorable civil disobedience, as
described above. What you advocate, is that everyone in society, has to
conform to whatever Nathan happens to believe in at the moment. The problem
with this, is that people will find it hard to keep track, and that it is
unfair.
