As far as it goes, I occasionally have my speedometer fail to work.
Stays at zero and then the check engine light comes on. Stopping,
shutting down the engine and restarting generally fixes it.
I don't know what the cause is, likely a bad ground somewhere. It hasn't
happened in about 6 months. But it DID happen leaving Barstow, heading
East on I-40 in 110 degree heat once. You bet your speedo covered assets
that I made good and sure that it was working before I headed across
that nasty stretch of road!

Stays at zero and then the check engine light comes on. Stopping,
shutting down the engine and restarting generally fixes it.

Being the rather rotund gentleman that I am, there isn't a Speedo anywhere
that is up to the challenge of covering my assets. Well, there could be, but
my relationship with the Sheriff isn't all that good and I wouldn't want to
press the issue, so to speak ...
