on local roads/streets.

If a kid needs that kind of hand-holding, he should not be behind the wheel.
Having said that, Cruise Control is not a feature that is required to
accomplish this goal. I just don't get it, and I never will. But then, I
seldom use my Cruise Control. I do not like it, and I have several of them.

The Cruise's parameters are stored in code, and the code must be altered. In
order to have a real time speed that suits you, and have a speed that suits
the computer at the same time, you will have to change the computer's code.
There is no value in telling the computer you are going 35ish when you are
really poking along at 25ish, and it would be a huge problem to be doing
65ish while the computer thinks you are doing 75, or more.

FWIW, my LandRover and my Rover SD1 didn't/don't kick in until 40 mph
