Last tire question, I promise

Got it narrowed down to the Bridgestone Duler A/T Revo.

The question I have is one of the tires is load rated as C and the other is
rated as SL. I know (from the research I did) that the C tires hold a
greater load then the SL's do. Which one do I want?

http://www.tirerack.com/tires/Compar...SR5MT673OWL_=4

I'd pick the C's in a heartbeat, but the only problem I have is that the
site I'm on offers a "Road Hazard" program on the SL rated tires, but NOT on
the C rated tires. Normally I wouldn't care, but I've already had two tires
replaced under a "Road Hazard" plan that I bought from Sears when I bought
my tires there, so I know it can be worth it.

Just wondering which ones I should get.

Thanks again (and again and again)

Hank

All other things being equal, you want the highest load rating available in
the size you select..

The load rating defines the load the tire can carry, duh. Another thing the
load rating is an indicator of is how well the tire might be expected to
hold up during a blow out. It also is an indicator of how it might perform
during evasive manuvers.

One of the things that the sidewall is meant to do is maintain its form at
various times. The higher load rating means the sidewalls ought to be
stronger. This can be a benefit if the tire looses air, and/or you have to
take evasive action. The weaker sidewall will provide a more "mushy" or
vague feeling. And, if you take the back seat out and go to HomeyD's for a
load of Ready Mix concrete, you will quickly overload the lower rated tires.

If you get the "C" rated tires you will be far less likely to need the
road hazard warranty.

Re: Last tire question, I promise

Should I buy 4 and keep my existing spare (which is still in great
condition), or get 5 and use the 5th as a spare?
