Look again, they give you a choice of running it off the high beam,
like you suggested, low beams, or ignition:

They still want you to have one or 2 hot (positive) wires through the
firewall.
I prefer one ground through the firewall.

They still want you to have one or 2 hot (positive) wires through the
firewall.
I prefer one ground through the firewall.

I believe it is the best by far way to go on an off road rig. Vibration
and heat is always an issue with any added wires or parts.
I just tag the battery wire in a short loop to pin 86 because I want to
be able to turn on my lights anytime.
I use the Hellas off road in the day for visibility to oncoming ATV's or
dirt bikes on our trails. Only ever had one bike have to pull a 'ditch
or die' in front of me so far. At least he had the time to
decide.... Don't need to wear out the Jeep light bulbs when trail
running.

and heat is always an issue with any added wires or parts.
I just tag the battery wire in a short loop to pin 86 because I want to
be able to turn on my lights anytime.
I use the Hellas off road in the day for visibility to oncoming ATV's or
dirt bikes on our trails. Only ever had one bike have to pull a 'ditch
or die' in front of me so far. At least he had the time to
decide.... Don't need to wear out the Jeep light bulbs when trail
running.
