Re: Hubs on rear axle?
On my old Series 2A LandRover, it was all of about 6 bolts and a pull and
out came the whole axle shaft. You could literally change it in 5 minutes.

Same on my old Scout with a D44. But the last time it broke I wound
up having to open the pumpkin anyway to get the busted one out - it
sheared just outbaord of the inner spline and I couldn't fish that
broken inner segment out to save me. Even after opening the pumpkin
an pushing it out of the carrier splines I had one helluva time
fishing that stub out. And of course, this was on a steep hill in
snow that was ***-deep to a tall giraffe so that I couldn't get it out
to a more workable spot until I got it fixed...
