But Robert, won't he still have issues with leakage if he does this? It
sounded to me like he bought a Jeep with the full floaters in it but the oil
seals are not doing their job.

Sorry, he had them installed and the leaks have been with him ever since.
The bottom line is the same, the axles leak, apparently at the wheels.

Perhaps the problem is not at the wheel end of the axle but rather at
the differential. The axle seals in the differential may have been
damaged during the conversion. To my knowledge, the axle tubes are not
filled with fluid but rather just the differential. Somehow the diff
fluid is leaking past the axle seals in the differential and running out
the wheel end of the axle. Perhaps Warn has encountered this problem
before and has the solution.

If I remember right, and with the senior moments that seldom happens
anymore, there are two seals, the inner next to the pumpkin and an outer
that is next to the wheels. If oil is leaking out, there is a problem with
no less than the outer seals.

I believe you are correct that there are 2 sets of seals. However the
bad mamma-jamma that wants to change his inner seals is welcome to come
and do mine too! I hate pulling carriers.
And the reason to jack up one side is to just make life easier. If fluid
is coming out from the hub theen there is sure to be more lying int he
bottom of the tube. To ease the amount of mess of 90w. I would jack up
the side i was wrenching on.
