|| because:
||
||| I just picked up a used OEM soft top, half doors and
|| uppers.
||| All in good shape except for one hole in the driver side
|| sail.
||| At $400.00 I couldn't resist. What is the best way to
|| repair
||| the hole? It's small, more like a cut. I also am looking
|| for
||| the brackets for rear window to the body. Anyone have a
|| source
||| for these, or any idea what DC would ask for them?
||
|| Depending on the size of the cut/hole, all the following
|| have been *very* successful on my TJ. Top is 6 years
old,
|| and still water tight:
||
|| Rubber Cement (still there, still water proof)
|| Super Glue (ditto)
|| Sew it up, then super glue (ditto)
|| Super Glue Gel (ditto)
|| Clear packing tape (ditto) (hardly can tell its
there..rear
|| side window) (put it on both sides)

I use a plastic polish from Autozone...in a blue bottle,
name sounds generic, but it works like a champ...the 'ooze'
is a tannish color.

Re: How to patch soft top
In news:47b769ae.0405050528.3031bcb4@posting.google.c om,
Bob from <magicclaw@mac.com> was injured because:
| Wow...it sounds like your top's been through hell! ;-)
|
| I haven't gotten any holes in mine yet (and no slashes
from
| thieves
| thankfully)...my only complaint is the abhorrent state of
the
| windows
| and resultant lack of visibility. That and my zippers are
| screwed. But
| these things I will live with until I decide it's bad
enough
| to buy a
| brand new sail cloth RAT from Bestop, or get a great offer
from
| someone wanting to sell a used Spice color top in
good/great
| condition.
