How to patch soft top

I just picked up a used OEM soft top, half doors and uppers. All in good
shape except for one hole in the driver side sail. At $400.00 I couldn't
resist. What is the best way to repair the hole? It's small, more like a
cut. I also am looking for the brackets for rear window to the body. Anyone
have a source for these, or any idea what DC would ask for them?

Hi Peter,
I'd try a rag top dealer/repair, they're use to repairing the
slashes done by thieves that believe the door is locked.
It's probably easiest to make the pieces with your lock black
smith, or peruse the bone yards, or give the manufacture a call:

Duct tape? ;)
As for the rear window bar, my buddy just picked one up at the dealer
for I think $97 (ouch).

In news:alXlc.24676$wY.7855@nwrdny03.gnilink.net,
Peter Brideau from <pebrideau@hotmail.com> was injured
because:

| I just picked up a used OEM soft top, half doors and
uppers.
| All in good shape except for one hole in the driver side
sail.
| At $400.00 I couldn't resist. What is the best way to
repair
| the hole? It's small, more like a cut. I also am looking
for
| the brackets for rear window to the body. Anyone have a
source
| for these, or any idea what DC would ask for them?

Depending on the size of the cut/hole, all the following
have been *very* successful on my TJ. Top is 6 years old,
and still water tight:

Rubber Cement (still there, still water proof)
Super Glue (ditto)
Sew it up, then super glue (ditto)
Super Glue Gel (ditto)
Clear packing tape (ditto) (hardly can tell its there..rear
side window) (put it on both sides)
