After your post, I went to the eBay link.
It's clear as day what the policy is but it still seems a little harsh for
Bill to just jump in and report him for abuse and to be so dang mean

Bill's bark is worse than his bite. In other words, don't be so sure
anybody was actually reported here. I think Bill was just making his
usual point. While I agree that an immediate 'reporting' would be
uncalled for in here without first a warning (and I'm positive that did
NOT happen) no one wants to see a bunch of EBAY auctions posted here
regularly. Those of us who peruse EBAY don't need to see it here. We
have our searches already set up. If it's for sale, post it. If it's an
auction, leave it on EBAY.

Hey Old Crow,
From the link you posted: "eBay users may not post on Usenet groups
(Internet newsgroups) to advertise eBay or an eBay listing that is
inappropriate or violates the Usenet board policy."
Note that it does *NOT* say that usenet posts cannot be made, only that
*inappropriate* posts cannot be made. Since the Charter allows posting
of an individual's jeep items for sale, and these were Jeep door parts,
the EBay policy was not violated.
Bill owes Tim an apology.
