No V8s, the Explorer is based on the Ranger truckette. The axle is
narrower than yours, that's why they had such a problem rolling over
with a flat tire.

It's very slightly narrower than a TJ's axle... but with the typical
backspacing of an aftermarket wheel, the wheels are about the same distance
apart once mounted on the 8.8.
