PCV filter has oil on it...
Also have a lot of leaks now... Looks like valve cover and below the
distributor?

Re: Cause and Effect
Just to double check, the PCV valve is the one at the back of the valve
cover?? I've checked Chiltons and it certainly looks like it. My jeep also
has what apears to be a PCV valve at the front of the valve cover (the first
hole behind the oil fill hole). Is this normal? I far as I can tell, this
hole should not have something like that in it. What should be in that
hole?

cover?? I've checked Chiltons and it certainly looks like it. My jeep also
has what apears to be a PCV valve at the front of the valve cover (the first
hole behind the oil fill hole). Is this normal? I far as I can tell, this
hole should not have something like that in it. What should be in that
hole?

what is the thing coming out of the hole behind the Oil Fill hole? Chilton
has it labled "molded hose"; mine sure looks like and sounds like a PCV
valve (it rattles when shaken).

has it labled "molded hose"; mine sure looks like and sounds like a PCV
valve (it rattles when shaken).

Are there 2 PCV valves on the 258 I6? Chilton and Hayes only show one PCV
valve and it's at the back of the engine.

Hi Joe,
Your engine probably started out life with an open molded hose
going back to an electrically controlled solenoid orifice, that had many
problems, fortunately someone has converted it over to a PCV valve.

Your engine probably started out life with an open molded hose
going back to an electrically controlled solenoid orifice, that had many
problems, fortunately someone has converted it over to a PCV valve.
